덧붙이자면, white elephants와 sitting ducks라는 표현을 살펴봤을 때 "흰 코끼리들과 앉은뱅이 오리들과 함께"는 전혀 희망적이지 않은 상황일 겁니다\. 껍질 밖으로 처음 나왔는데 "쓸모없고, 쉽게 속는 약자들과 함께" 하게 된다면 암울하겠지요\. 역시 그삘 그대로 \-

sitting ducks는 방금 사전을 찾아 보고 알게 되었지만 \('봉'이라는군요\) white elephants는 더 설명드릴 수 있습니다\. 옛날에는 하얀 코끼리가 귀해서 일도 안 시키고 지키기만 했다는군요\. 그래서 white elephants가 쓸모없는 것을 뜻하게 되었다고 합니다\.
