The Smiths의 기타리스트였던 Johnny Marr가 지난 달 Rock's Back Pages와 갖은 인터뷰에서 라디오헤드에 대해 언급했습니다\. 질문자가 The Smiths가 현재 음악계에 끼치고 있는 영향에 대해 얘기하면서 그 예로 Knives Out를 뽑자 Johnny Marr도 The Smiths의 참된 영향\(genuine influence\)에 가장 근접한 밴드는 라디오헤드라고 말했습니다\. 이러한 점은 탐이 자신의 감정을 목소리에 담는 방법과 많은 관련이 있으며, Johnny Marr가 처음 에드를 만났을 때 약간 겁 먹은 듯이 \(with a certain amount of trepidation\) 자신을 앉혀 놓더니 Knives Out을 연주했는데 The Smiths의 음악이 그랬던 식으로 자신을 감동 시켰다고 말했습니다\. 인터뷰 원문은 http://www\.rocksbackpages\.com/features/smiths/hoskyns\.html에서 볼 수 있습니다\. 이해가 잘 되셨으면 좋겠네요\. 번역이 서툴러서\.\.
