Radiohead Promise Pop Songs for Sixth Album "Dumps like a truck" ominously underlined in Thom's lyric journal Steve Haag and Kevin Keenan report: Radiohead guitarist Ed O'Brien has told XFM Online that the recording for Radiohead studio album \#6 is going quite swimmingly\. O'Brien proclaimed, "As I always say, it's gonna be an album of three minute pop songs\. That's what they always say but that's what it is this time\." Without our official Little Orphan Annie Secret Decoder Ring, we're left to wonder what the hell any of that means\. But we do know that the band has already completed about four weeks' production on the record: half in sunny Los Angeles, the other half in their studio in dreary old Oxford\. As previously reported by Pitchfork, Thom and the boys are aiming for a March 2003 release for the album, which is currently without a definite tracklist\. However, Radiohead fansite Ateaseweb\.com is running a potential tracklist, based on material the band premiered over the summer at shows in Salamanca, Spain and Lisbon, Portugal\. We've numbered them only for the sake of clarity\-\- this is for novelty purposes only: 01 Reckoner 02 Bring on the New Blood 03 Follow Me Around 04 Wicked Child 05 Keep the Wolf from the Door 06 Up on the Ladder 07 There There 08 Scatterbrain 09 We Suck Young Blood 10 Where I End and You Begin 11 I Will 12 Sail to the Moon 13 Myxomatosis 14 The Punch Up at the Wedding 15 Go to Sleep 16 Sit Down, Stand Up 17 2\+2=5 There is, of course, no guarantee that the studio versions of these songs will sound like once Thom runs them through the blender, but from the live versions we've heard, they sound a bit like the more rock\-centric cuts off Amnesiac, except possibly drearier\. Early in the recording process, Thom promised "no computers this time," but we at Pitchfork realize you can't trust this guy as far as you can throw him \(which, now that we think about it, may actually be quite a distance\)\-\- remember when he said he was only participating in three post\-Kid A interviews? No touring plans for 2003 have been confirmed yet, but the band told NME that they will indeed tour the UK after the new album is released\. And not content to bask in the silver\-medal glory of Q Magazine's "second greatest album of all time" treatment of OK Computer, or the Travis\-coveted award for "Best Act in the World Today," Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood has scored the soundtrack to England's Film Four production Bodysong, inspiring a slew of Americans to befriend European bootleggers\. The film chronicles an "archetypal human life using images taken from all around the world\." No image will be spared in the production: microscopic medical cameras, portraits, newsreels, and old "Will & Grace" episodes are all potential inclusions\. No word on those clips of Schreiber and DiCrescenzo holding hands at a Joan of Arc show two years ago\. It's very human\. According to the film's website, Greenwood's "powerful musical track" will help take "the viewer on a roller coaster ride of the human body and life cycle" as the filmmakers present a "torrent of humanity larger than any of us can conceive\."
